The crescent edges up. A ghost wind grieves.

 O lovers watching the white sickle rise

And quivering like a harvest that had eyes,

Your souls have root in earth, but each dusk-while

They are cut away by heaven's perfect smile

Before the gross blade Death gathers its sheaves.
