Vol. 6 includes more translations, the original texts of the English translations in Vol. 5 & recollections of contact with The Mother.
The present volume constitutes the sixth and so far the last volume of the first collected edition of the published works of Sri Nolini Kanta Gupta. Apart from his original writings and some new translations, the present volume especially contains the original texts, in various languages ancient and modern, of the books and isolated pieces that Nolini Kanta has translated into English. These translations have already been published in the Fifth Volume of his Collected Works. We wish to acknowledge our indebtedness to the authors and the publishers concerned for allowing us to include in this volume the original texts. Special acknowledgements are due to Visvabharati Granthan Bibhag for according us permission to reproduce the following poems of Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore:
(1) "09" from staro (translated under the title 'Vigil'); (2) “বিপদে মােরে রক্ষা কর" (Protect me) from 'stota fal’; (3) "aha 497" ("The Dancer's Worship’); (4) “বাংলার মাটি, বাংলার জল" ("The Lands of Bengal) from 'stoffuta'. The English translations of these four poems have been printed on pages 162-65 of the fifth volume of this Collection. A fifth poem by Tagore, “ছুটির দিনে" from ‘শিশু’, has been rendered into French and printed on pages 308-09 of the same volume. We have done our best to avoid using copyright material without first asking permission. However, we seek to be excused for any inadvertent lapses in this regard. We have pleasure in acknowledging the grant given by the Government of India to our Centre of Education to meet the cost of publication of this volume.
