Romen Palit

About

Romen Palit (1920 – ?), as a young boy, he became the first child to be accepted to the Ashram. His father was a member of the Ashram and his mother died in 1926. In November 1929 (at the age of 9) he came to the Ashram with his father as a visitor, but was not allowed to enter the Ashram. Sri Aurobindo advised him to go back for a few months and return after learning some English “so that he could talk to the Mother”. He returned in July 1930. His father did nothing to arrange for his stay. The wife of Bijoy Nag agreed to look after him, while he stayed in an adjoining room vacated by her husband.
