Kadambari : novel by Bāṇabhaṭṭa (q.v.). It is a prose romance, involving a narrative within a narrative related to a king by a parrot. Kādambari is remarkable for the freshness with which it deals with the emotion of love. Left unfinished by the author, it was completed by his son. It is a classic of Sanskrit literature.
