Viṭhoba : an incarnation of Vishnu who is the Ishta-Devatā of the Varkari sect of Mahārāshṭra & Karṇātaka. Tukārām the most famous poet-saint of that community was a senior contemporary of Shivaji on whom his songs of bhakti & teaching had a great influence.
