... Sri Aurobindo and the Mother have always considered those ideas and experiences as hypothetical, as they had to go on marching forward into the unknown. For the supramental world as a typal world is very different from a supramental world being inserted by a process of transformation in an evolutionary manifestation located on a lower level of existence. Yet, the Pioneers have given some indications... course of his ideals and had we had the privilege of his company, we too would have asked questions and tried to get an answer from the very source itself. In the supermind one will no... has to do everything! There will be differences and classifications all the same, and special functions according to people and their individual tastes. I don't see why you should deprive the supramental world particularly of occult activity more than of any other. How do you conceive of the supramental life? The old conception... one has the direct perception of them, one has the power to act on them, and one makes some higher will intervene in the play of these forces in order to obtain a required result. In the experience of February 3 , I saw certain people from here (and from elsewhere) who already belong to the supramental world in a part of their being, but there is no connection, no link. But now the hour has come in universal history for this link to be built. What is the relationship between this experience of... Where I was cast was clearly into the origin of the supramental creation—all this warm gold, this tremendous living power, this sovereign peace. And once again I saw that the values governing the supramental world have nothing to do with our values here, even the values of our highest wisdom, even those we consider the most divine when we live constantly in a divine Presence: it is utterly different. ...

... the sense of sin and virtue. It reminds me of a passage from one of your experiences which struck me very much at the time. In that experience you went to the supramental world: you saw a "ship" landing on the shore of the supramental world and people being put through certain tests—some people were rejected, others were kept. There's a striking passage in your description, and it bears a relation... body simply gets winded. It bears up under the tension of vital energy, but eventually it gets winded, tired out, and needs rest. Given the world's present set-up, this is "normal"—but if the supramental world were to be realized, it shouldn't remain normal. Clearly, a considerable change has to take place in the physical substance. That will probably be the essential difference between the bodies fashioned... the disembarkation, you say: "The criterion or the judgment [for passing the tests] was based EXCLUSIVELY on the substance constituting the people—whether they belonged completely to the supramental world or not, whether they were made of Page 31 this very special substance. The criterion adopted was neither moral nor psychological. It is likely that their bodily substance was the result ...

Its Light and Power were definitively established on Earth by the Manifestation in 1956. The pillars of the bridge connecting the supramental world and our gross material world were put in place. Normally at this point the Work of the Avatar would have come to an end. But it was decided that the Mother would remain on Earth to accelerate... time.
