The Mother's reading of Savitri Book Four, Canto III

नमो मित्राय भानवे मृत्योर्मा पाहि । भ्राजिष्णवे विश्वहेतवे नमः।
सूर्याद्भवन्ति भूतानि सूर्येण पालितानि तु । सूर्ये लयं प्राप्नुवन्ति यः सूर्यः सोऽहमेव च॥
चक्षुर्नो देवः सविता चक्षुर्न उत पर्वतः। चक्षुर्धाता दधातु नः॥
आदित्याय विद्महे सहस्रकिरणाय धीमहि । तन्नः सूर्यः प्रचोदयात्॥

namo mitrāya bhānave mrtyormā pāhi,
bhrājiṣṇave viśvahetave namaḥ.
sūryādbhavanti bhūtāni sūryeṇa pālitāni tu,
sūrye layaṁ prāpnuvanti yaḥ sūryaḥ so'hameva ca.
cakṣurno devaḥ savitā cakṣurna uta parvatah,
cakṣurdhātā dadhātu naḥ.
ādityāya vidmahe sahasrakiraṇāya dhimahi,
tannaḥ sūryaḥ pracodayāt.

Adoration to Mitra, adoration to Bhanu, protect me from death; adoration to the lustrous one and to the cause of the world.

Beings originate from the Sun, they are fostered by the Sun and dissolve in the Sun. Whoever is the Sun, I am He.

The Divine Sun is our sight and the Height is our sight. May the Divine bestow sight in us.

We aspire to know the Sun, we meditate on the thousand-rayed One; may the Sun inspire us.
