Sanksrit Mantra used in the music composed by Sunil for Savitri readings as well as New Year Music
The Mother used to play on the organ. In the fifties of the twentieth century She would often play on Sundays in the afternoon. She also played at midnight on every New Year's Eve. About Her music Sri Aurobindo says:
"The Mother's music has often been recognised by X as Indian of this or that rāga. The Mother plays whatever come through her — she does not usually play any precisely composed music whether European or Indian — the latter in fact she has never learnt."

Sunil Bhattacharya joined the Ashram in 1942. He was proficient in music and particularly in playing the sitar. He composed music for the annual cultural programmes of the Ashram school held on the 1st December every year.
In 1959, the Mother asked Sunil to orchestrate Her New Year Music. In 1965, She entrusted him with both the composition and the orchestration of the New Year Music. Later she would give him the theme in advance, usually on his birthday,
In 1966, She asked him to compose the musical accompaniment for Her readings of Sri Aurobindo's Savitri. He continued to compose music for Savitri and for the New Year till his passing in 1998.
In his compositions for Savitri and for the New Year, Sunil incorporated chantings of mantras from the Vedas, the Upanishads and various Stavas and Stotras, invoking the diverse Godheads of India. To him the Mother and Sri Aurobindo were the Supreme as well as all the Goddesses and Gods of Indian mythology. As a result, we often find him replacing the names of the different deities mentioned in the originals with the names of the Mother or Sri Aurobindo. He seems to have realised the essence of the Mantra:
गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुः गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः। गुरुः साक्षात् परं ब्रह्म तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः॥
Gururbrahmā gururviṣṇuḥ gururdevo maheswaraḥ Guruḥ sākṣāt param Brahma tasmai śrīgurave namaḥ.
which means "Guru is Brahma, Guru is Vishnu, Guru is the Lord Maheswara, Guru is the Supreme Brahman Himself. Salutations to Him, the Guru." Apart from these, he might have also used verses which he composed himself.
Many devotees of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo have been playing Sunil's music during their meditation at home or at the different centres. A need was felt for the collection of the texts of the mantras with their meanings and references for a better understanding of the mantras.
This is the genesis of the present compilation.
Unfortunately, Sunil does not seem to have noted down the references of the mantras used. Nor is it evident which of the mantras he had composed himself. At places a word or two of the mantras could not be caught in the recording; also, references of some of the mantras could not be traced.
Although the work is not fully complete, for the present it was thought best to publish the mantras along with the English transliteration and translation providing as many references as could be found. Short prayers which occur repeatedly are given once only. The Mother's New Year Messages till 1973 and the lines used in the later years as prayers in English and French have also been included in this compilation.

She shines with her gleamings in the space of heaven, the Goddess has discarded her dark robes. Awakening all, Dawn comes with rosy steeds well yoked to her chariot. (14)

Dawns appear, luminous and omnipotent, for the sake of the mortal who makes the offering. Even like the God of life, they bestow as the right impulsions break forth, life's energies; and these he enjoys who has the Immortal drink purified. (18)
O Mother of the gods, the very Army of Aditi, the flaming knowledge of sacrifice, shine forth in thy vastness. O Creator of the perfect expression, manifest yourself in us for the sake of the supreme word; O All-desirable, bring us to birth in the birth. (19)
The varied work, which Dawns bring forward for him who accomplishes the sacrifice, who gives the perfect expression — that is the Supreme Good, That may Mitra and Varuna, and Aditi, and the waters and Earth and Heaven protect us. (20)

The luminous birds with wings of beauty have clothed them-selves with waters and they surge up along a dark path towards the heaven.
They have returned from the seat of Truth and in their bright energy lift up the earth to the wideness. (47)

O Fire, O thou with thy many births, even as we hymn thee force open the heavens (or, the door or entrance) with thy quivering lustre (or, with thy lustre of knowledge) for him who utters the mind of wisdom; O Brilliant, O glorious Flame, what thou with all the gods hast won, that give to us, that mighty thought.
O Fire, from thee are born the seer-wisdoms, from thee the mind of knowledge, from thee the utterances that achieve; from thee come the riches that take the hero's form to the mortal giver who has the true thought.

Lo, the supreme Light of Lights is come; a varied knowledge is born in front spreading far and wide. She is born to give birth to the Sun, even so night opens her womb for the Dawn. (1)
With her reddening child, the white Mother comes blushing red: the dark Mother flings open her dark chambers. Both have the same Comrade, both are immortals, they follow each other, as they move measuring out earth and heaven and the hue beyond. (2)
She is the Fosterer, she brings desirable things: and as she awakes, She creates a varied knowledge. The image of those that are passing endlessly, the first of those that are manifest, Dawn rises wide refulgent. (15)

I pray the Fire, the friend who is irresistible in his own command, in whose law the white rays attend on the Sun-world, serve the teat of the mother.
Fire whom face to face a home of light, one who brings the ray of intuition by his lustre they increase; he blazes with his row of flaming tusks.
He comes to us as a noble path for men when he travels to the ends of heaven; he is the seer and he lights up the sky (or, the cloud).

The birds with wings of beauty united together and as comrades cling to the same tree. One of them eats the sweet fruit, the other does not eat and looks about. (20)
There where the birds with wings of beauty, in perfect knowledge, sing their share of immortality. The Lord and Protector of all the worlds, the Supreme Intelligence, enters into one young and ignorant as I am. (21)

Katha Upanishad 2.3.9, 10, 15
God has not set His body within the ken of seeing, neither does any man with the eye behold Him, but to the heart and themind and the supermind He is manifest. Who know Him are the immortals. (9)
When the five senses cease and are at rest and the mind restswith them and the higher mind ceases from its workings, that is the highest state, say thinkers. (10)
Yea, when all the strings of the heart are rent asunder, evenhere, in this human birth, then the mortal becomes immortal. This is the whole teaching of the Scriptures. (15)

Katha Upanishad 2.3.17
The Purusha, the Spirit within, who is no larger than the finger of a man is seated for ever in the heart of creatures: one must separate Him with patience from one's own body as one separates from a blade of grass its main fibre. As the spider puts out and gathers in, as herbs spring up upon the earth, as hair of head and body grow from a living man, so here all is born from the Immutable.
Brahman grows by his energy at work, and then from Him is Matter born, and out of Matter life, and mind and truth and the worlds, and in works immortality.

From Him are the oceans and all these mountains and from Him flow rivers of all forms, and from Him are all plants, and sensible delight which makes the soul to abide with the material elements. (9)
Life and mind and the senses are born from Him and the sky, and the wind, and light, and the waters and earth upholding all that is. (3)

Large was the covering and it was dense in which thou wert wrapped when thou didst enter into the waters; one was the god who saw thee but many and manifold were thy bodies which he saw, O Fire, O knower of all things born. (1)
We desire thee, O Fire, O knower of all things born, when thou hast entered manifoldly into the growths of the earth and into the waters; there the lord of the law grew aware of thee, O thou of the many diverse lights, shining luminous beyond the ten inner dwelling-places. (3)

The heroes prepare the dappled Scatterer even like food; such were the first and pristine laws. (43)

With Jagat the Stream was established firm in the Heaven; with Rathantara the Sun is seen all around up above.
The rhythm of Gayatra, they say, has a threefold kindling; hence it goes farther beyond in its mighty greatness. (25)

The Wise One is not born, neither does he die: he came not from anywhere, neither is he any one: he is unborn, he is everlasting, he is ancient and sempiternal: he is not slain in the slaying of the body. (18)
Finer than the fine, huger than the huge the self hides in the secret heart of the creature: when a man strips himself of will and is weaned from sorrow, then he beholds Him; purified from the mental elements he sees the greatness of the Self-being. (20)
यतो वाचो निवर्तन्ते। अप्राप्य मनसा सह । आनन्दं ब्रह्मणो विद्वान् । न बिभेति कुतश्चनेति । एतं ह वाव न तपति। किमहं साधु नाकरवम्। किमहं पापमकरवमिति । स य एवं विद्वानेते आत्मानं स्पृणुते। उभे ह्येवैष एते आत्मानं स्पृणुते। ।
yato vāco nivartante, aprāpya manasā saha, ānandaṁ brahmaṇo vidvān, na bibheti kutaścaneti, etaṁ ha vāva na tapati, kimahaṁ sādhu nākaravam, kimahaṁ pāpamakaravamiti, sa ya evaṁ vidvānete ātmānaṁ spṛṇute, ubhe hyevaiṣa ete ātmānaṁ spṛṇute.

The Bliss of the Eternal from which words turn back without attaining and mind also returns baffled: who knows the Bliss of the Eternal, he fears not for aught in this world or elsewhere. Verily, to him comes not remorse and her torment saying, "Why have I left undone the good and why have I done that which was evil?” For he who knows the Eternal, knows these (or, knows that they are alike) and delivers from them his Spirit; yea, he knows both evil and good for what they are and delivers his Spirit, who knows the Eternal.
यं मर्त्यः पुरुस्पृहं विदद् विश्वस्य धायसे। प्र स्वादनं पितूनामस्ततातिं चिदायवे ॥६ स हि ष्मा धन्वाक्षितं दाता न दात्या पशुः। हिरिश्मश्रुः शुचिदन्नृभुरनिभृष्टतविषिः॥७ आ यस्ते सर्पिरासुतेऽग्ने शमस्ति धायसे। ऐषु द्युम्नमुत श्रव आ चित्तं मर्येषु धाः॥९

Him mortal man must come to know as one who holds the multitude of his desires so that he may establish in him all; he moves towards the sweet taste of the draughts of the wine and to the building of the house for man. (6)
Pure and bright, verily, is he and he tears our desert dwelling place (or, the solid ground on which we dwell), like a beast who tears, a beast with golden beard and tusks of bright purity, he is like a smith whose force is unafflicted by the heat of the Fire. (7)
O Fire, to whom is poured the running stream of the offering of light, the man who is a happy ground for establishing thee, — in such mortals found the light, and the inspiration and the knowledge. (9)

In all beings, moving and unmoving, far and near, in front or in the rear I see above and below and aside, thy form, O Krishna, who has infinite forms.
Lo! I am wholly merged in the ocean of thy beauty: I see there neither the end nor the middle nor the beginning.
Speechless I am, motionless evermore, utterly bewildered! Where am I, who am I? I know not, O Lord.
I bow to Thee, I bow to Thee! O Lord! who has the whole universe as his forms. I bow to Thee, I bow to Thee O Lord, whose force transcends all Thought!
I bow to Thee, I bow to Thee, the ocean of all wonders! O Mighty Lord, Giver of bliss! I bow to Thee, I bow to Thee.

O Fire, bring to us a light full of energy, O unseizable Ray; for us by thy opulence pervading on every side cut out in our front a path to the plenitude.
O Fire, O Wonderful, come to us with thy will and the growth of the judgment; in thee the sacrificial Friend, achiever of the work can climb to almightiness.
Increase for us, O Fire, the acquisition and the growth of these who are men that are illuminates and by their laudings of thee have attained to the plenitudes of the riches....
These are those flaming rays of thine, O Fire, and they go blazing and violent, like lightnings that run over all quarters, like the voice of a chariot seeking the plenitude.
Soon, O Fire, may alike those of us who are opposed and obstructed attain to protection and the giving of the riches and our illuminates break through all directions and beyond.

Anywhere he is born new in eternal wombs; he stands in the forest hoary-old with smoke for his banner: a bull unbathed he journeys to the waters and mortals who are conscious lead him on his way. (5)

Mundaka Upanishad 3.1.8, 9, 10
Eye cannot seize, speech cannot grasp Him, nor these other godheads; not by austerity can he be held nor by works: only when the inner being is purified by a glad serenity of knowledge, then indeed, meditating, one beholds the Spirit in-divisible.
This self is subtle and has to be known by a thought-mind into which the life-force has made its fivefold entry: all the conscious heart of creatures is shot through and inwoven with the currents of the life-force and only when it is purified can this Self manifest its power.
Whatever world the man whose inner being is purified sheds the light of his mind upon, and whatsoever desires he cherishes, that world he takes by conquest, and those desires. Then, let who-soever seeks for success and well-being approach with homage a self-knower,
उदीवं जीवो असुन आगादप प्रागात् तम आ ज्योतिरेति । आरैक् पन्थां यातवे सूर्यायागन्म यत्र प्रतिरन्त आयुः ॥१६॥ स्यूमना वाच उदियर्ति वह्निः स्तवानो रेभ उषसो विभातीः । अद्या तदुच्छ गृणते मघोन्यस्मे आयुर्नि दिदीहि प्रजावत् ॥१७॥

Night spreads wide, she comes everywhere, a Goddess with shining eyes — she looms over these glories as their overlord. (1)

The luminous birds with wings of beauty have clothed them-selves with waters and they surge up along a dark path towards the heaven. They have returned from the seat of Truth and in their bright energy lift up the earth to the wideness. (47)
The same waters flow upward and again flow downward, day by day. The divine showers give life to the earth; the fires give life to heaven. (51)

Brilliant like the radiant range of lightning in between the rain-clouds and thin and fair like the golden-yellow flower-spike of paddy grain, bright and subtle as an atom, in that flame is seated the Supreme Self. Wielding in Her hands the string of beads, battle axe, mace, arrow, thunderbolt, lotus, bow, water-pot, cudgel, lance, sword, shield, conch, bell, wine-cup, trident, noose and the discus Sudarsana, She has a complexion of coral and is seated on a lotus. I worship here that Mahalaxmi, the vanquisher of asura, Mahisha.

abhyavasthāḥ pra jāyante pra vavrervavriściketa, upasthe māturvi caṣṭe. 1 juhure vi citayanto'nimiṣaṁ nṛmṇaṁ pānti, ā dṛļhāṁ puraṁ viviśuḥ.2 ā śvaitreyasya jantavo dyumad vardhanta kṛṣṭayaḥ, niṣkagrīvo bṛhaduktha enā madhvā na vājayuḥ.3
State upon state is born, covering upon covering has become conscious and aware, in the lap of the mother he sees.

Creatures born, men who people the earth have increased the luminosity of the son of the white mother; his neck wears the golden necklace, he has the utterance of the Vast, and with his honey-wine he is the seeker of the plenitude.

O god, O happy light, O Fire, he who has prepared for thee the luminous honeycomb (or, the cake of light) him lead forward towards a more opulent state, O youthful godhead, even to the bliss enjoyed by the gods.
An aspirant and traveller and wise of mind, a purifying flame, the Fire who is set within as the immortal in mortals, he sends forth and carries a ruddy smoke striving with his bright flame of light to reach heaven.
Visible, golden of light, widely he shone; resplendent in his glory he is life hard to violate: the Fire by his expandings became immortal when heaven with its strong seed had brought him to birth.

The minds of men who seek the godhead converge towards the flame even as their seeings converge in the sun; when two dawns of different forms give birth to this Fire the white Horse is born in front of the days.
When he puts out the long cord of his troop, Fire in his purity reveals all by the pure herds of his rays; the goddess of understanding is yoked to her works, she supine he standing high, he has drunk from her breasts with his tongues of flame.
He was born victorious in front of the days, established in established things, ruddy-bright in the woodlands of our pleasure; in house and house founding the seven ecstasies the Fire took up his session as a Priest of the call strong for sacrifice.

O Fire, we have sought thee with our adoration, bring hither Indra the rich in light, the beloved with his happy chariots to protect us.
Swing wide, O divine doors; be easy of approach that you may be our guard: lead further further and fill full our sacrifice.

हिरण्यदन्तं शुचिवर्णमारात् क्षेत्रादपश्यमायुधा मिमानम्। ददानो अस्मा अमृतं विपृक्वत् किं मामनिन्द्राः कृणवन्ननुक्थाः॥३॥ क्षेत्रादपश्यं सनुतश्चरन्तं सुमद् यूथं न पुरु शोभमानम्। न ता अगृभ्रन्नजनिष्ट हि षः पलिक्नीरिद् युवतयो भवन्ति ॥४॥ शुनश्चिच्छेपं निदितं सहस्राद् यूपादमुञ्चो अशमिष्ट हि षः। एवास्मदग्ने वि मुमुग्धि पाशान् होतश्चिकित्व इह तू निषद्य ॥७॥ हृणीयमानो अप हि मदैयेः प्र मे देवानां व्रतपा उवाच । इन्द्रो विद्वाँ अनु हि त्वा चचक्ष तेनाहमग्ने अनुशिष्ट आगाम्॥८॥

I saw him in a distant field, one golden-tusked and pure-bright of hue shaping his weapons: to him I am giving immortality in my several parts and what shall they do to me who possess not Indra and have not the word?
In that field I saw ranging apart what seemed a happy herd in its many forms of beauty; none could seize on them, for he was born, even those of them who were grey with age became young again.
Shunahshepa too was bound to the thousandfold post of sacrifice, him didst thou release and he attained to calm (Or, he achieved the work); so do thou take thy seat here in us, O conscious knower, O Priest of the call, and loose from us the cords of our bondage.
Mayst thou not grow wroth and depart from me: he who guards the law of working of the gods declared to me; Indra knew and sought after and saw thee, and taught by him, O Fire, I have come to thee.

She whose complexion will be that of pure gold, will be wearing shining gold garments. She with the golden lustre will be wearing ornaments of pure gold.
Her four arms will be adorned by lotus, goad, noose and conch.She is SriMira, Kamala, Lakshmi, Sri, seated on the golden lotus.

The Divine Bird, vast in its wings of beauty, is the source of the waters, the seer of earthly growths (Or, is seen in the womb of the waters and of the earthly growths).
With its showers pouring all around he brings felicity. He flows ceaselessly on and on: him I call for the vast protection.
That eternal breast of yours yields supreme delight; with that you nourish all desirable things.
That establishes felicity, discovers treasures, gives lavishly: O Saraswati; that do thou here affirm.

One must meditate upon Mira, who is happy, whose face is beautiful and who is fragrant with fresh perfumes, whose heart is suffused with compassion and who floods the earth with ambrosia, and who is seated on a crocodile, adorned with white ornaments to whom all the three worlds bow down and whom the gods and other beings praise,

agne jarasva svapatya āyunyūrjā pinvasva samiṣo didīhi naḥ, vayāṁsi jinva bṛhataśca jāgṛva uśigdevānāmasi sukraturvipām.7 viśpatiṁ yahvamatithiṁ naraḥ sadā yantāraṁ dhīnāmuśijaṁ ca vāghatām, adhvarāṇām cetanaṁ jātavedasaṁ pra śaṁsanti namasā jūtibhirvṛdhe.8
O Fire, come near to us in a life rich with offspring, nourish us with energy, illumine our impulsions, animate in us the expanding powers of the Vast, О wakeful Flame; thou art the aspirant strong in will for the gods and the illumined seers.
Men ever with obeisance, with swift urgings, give expression for their growth, to the knower of all births, the mighty one, the lord of the peoples, the Guest, the driver of our thoughts, the aspirant in those who speak the word, the wakener to consciousness in the pilgrim-sacrifice.

The inviolable who goes in front of the human peoples the Fire is a swift chariot that is ever new.
Overpowering all assailants the Fire is the will of the gods never crushed, filled with the multitude of his inspirations.
By this bringer of delights the mortal who gives, reaches and possesses the house of the purifying light.
May we by our thought possess around us well-established all the things of the Fire, may we be illumined seers who know all things born (Or, in whom knowledge is born).

Thou art the male with the divine vision, in the wake of many dawns shine out luminous in the black nights, O Fire. O prince of the riches, lead and carry us over beyond the evil; O youthful god, make us aspirants for the treasure.
Shine out, O Fire, the invincible male, conquering all the cities, all the felicities; thou art the knower of the births, O perfect guide on the way, thou art the leader of the first, the Vast all-protecting sacrifice.

Lord, it is Thy Peace we would have and not a vain sem-blance of peace, Thy Freedom and not a semblance of freedom, Thy Unity and not a semblance of unity. For it is only Thy Peace, Thy Freedom and Thy Unity that can triumph over the blind violence and the hypocrisy and falsehood that still reign upon Earth.

vedāhametaṁ puruṣaṁ mahāntamādityavarṇaṁ tamasaḥ parastāt, tameva viditvāti mṛtyumeti nānyaḥ panthā vidyate' yanāya. 18 om prajāpatiścarati garbhe antarajāyamāno vahudhā vi jāyate, tasya yoniṁ pari paśyanti dhīrāstasmin ha tasthurbhuvanāni viśvā. 19
I know Him who is the greatest of all, luminous like the sun and beyond all ignorance. By knowing him alone death is transcended. No other way exists for this.
Om Prajapati moves about in the womb and though unborn grows within it and takes up diverse forms. The wise look far into his source of being. In him alone dwell all the worlds.
Suklayajurveda 31.18, 19

Even as the Sun is the eye of all this world, yet is not soiled by the outward blemishes of the visual, so there is one Spirit within all creatures, but the sorrow of this world soils it not: for it is beyond grief and danger.
The One Eternal in the transient, the One consciousness in many conscious beings, who being One orders the desires of many: the calm and strong who behold Him in their self as in a mirror, theirs is eternal peace and 'tis not for others.

She has ten faces, ten arms, ten feet and has the lustre of collyrium. She shines with her thirty large eyes knit like a garland.3
Protector of the world, though she is terrible in appearance with her glittering teeth and fangs, she is the mainstay of the great opulence of beauty, auspiciousness and lustre.4
She is the delusion of Vishnu, the impassable Mahakali. If worshipped she will bring under the control of the worshipper all the mobile and the immobile in the universe.6
The one who manifested out of the bodies of all the gods with immeasurable light, she is Mahalakshmi containing the three gunas, verily the destroyer of Mahisa.7

The knot of the heart strings is rent, cut away are all doubts, and a man's works are spent and perish, when is seen That which is at once the being below and the Supreme.
All this is Brahman immortal, naught else; Brahman is in front of us, Brahman behind us, and to the south of us and to the north of us (Or, to the Aright and the left of us) and below us and above us; it stretches everywhere. All this is Brahman alone, all this magnificent universe.

They are two birds that cling to one common tree; beautiful of plumage, yoke-fellows are they, eternal companions, and one of them eateth the delicious fruit of the tree and the Other eateth not, but watcheth His fellow.
Man is the bird that dwelleth on one common tree with God, but he lost in its sweetness and the slave of its sweetness and loseth hold of God; therefore he hath grief, therefore he is bewildered. But when he seeth that other bird who is God, then he knoweth that nothing is but God's greatness, and his grief passeth away from him.
Shwetashwatara Upanishad 4.6, 4.7
सत्यमेव जयते नानृतं सत्येन पन्था विततो देवयानः। येनाक्रमन्त्यृषयो ह्याप्तकामा यत्र तत् सत्यस्य परमं निधानम् ॥६
satyameva jayate nānṛtaṁ satyena panthā vitato devayānaḥ, yenākramantyṛṣayo hyāptakāmā yatra tat satyasya paramaṁ nidhānam.6
It is Truth that conquers and not falsehood; By Truth was stretched out the path of the journey of the gods, by which the sages winning their desire ascend there where Truth has its Supreme abode.
Mundaka Upanishad 3.1.6

Summoned by Thee I have come from there. Drowning me in the ocean of Thy nectarous love, reveal, O Lord, to my understanding, the motherly play that Thou designest here with each essential element in my being.

Whose eyes are lovely like the blue lotus-petals, who is at-tired in blue, whose limbs are fair and white, whose face is bright and beautiful like the full moon of Autumn, whose smiling lips are red like Bimba-fruit, who showers the nectar of Her compassion, who is adored even by Lords like Vishnu, Siva, Brahma, She — the aspired for by all and the giver of boons — is to be meditated upon.
Sitadhyanam
वन्दे मीरां जगद्धात्रीम् मीरा नामैव नामैव मम जीवनम् मीरा नामैव मम शरणम् मीरा मम शरणम्

I adore Mira, the Mother of the universe. The name Mira is verily my life. The name Mira is my refuge. Mira alone is my refuge.
अनात्मनः तेन हि तृप्तिरस्ति त्वमात्मना य आत्मानमवीक्ष तृप्तः। मामात्मभावं नयसे न यावत् तृप्तिः कुतस्ते भवतीह तावत्॥
anātmanaḥ tena hi tṛptirasti tvamātmanā ya ātmānamavīkṣa tṛptaḥ, māmātmabhāvaṁ nayase na yāvat tṛptiḥ kutaste bhavatīha tāvat.
You, who are satisfied without having beheld the self/Self, this satisfaction is without that self/Self. As long as you do not realise me as yourself, till then where is your satisfaction possible here?

pṛthvī reṇuraṇuḥ payāṁsi kaṇikāḥ phalguḥ sphuliṅgo laghu- stejo niḥśvasanaṁ maruttanutaraṁ randhraṁ susūkṣmaṁ nabhaḥ, kṣudrā rudrapitāmahaprabhṛtayaḥ kītāḥ samastāḥ surā dṛṣṭā yatra sa tārako vijayate śrīpādadhūlīkaṇaḥ.19
The feet whose dust-particle makes the earth look like a little particle of dust, Water seems to be just a small drop, Fire seems to be an insignificantly small spark, Wind seems to be a soft breath. Sky looks a minute hole, Gods like Siva, Brahma etc. seem like the smallest of insects, Victory be to the dust-particle of those beautiful feet.
Mukundamalastotram 19
या ते रुद्र शिवा तनूरघोरा पापनाशिनी। तया नस्तन्वा शंतमया गिरिशन्ताभिचाकशत्॥८॥
yā te rudra śivā tanūraghorā pāpanāśinī, tayā nastanvā śantamayā giriśantābhicākaśat.8

Taittiriya Upanishad: shikshavalli 1
नायमात्मा प्रवचनेन लभ्यो न मेधया न बहुना श्रुतेन। यमेवैष वृणुते तेन लभ्यस्तस्यैष आत्मा विवृणुते तनूं स्वाम् ॥२३॥
nāyamātmā pravacanena labhyo na medhayā na bahunā śrutena, yamevaiṣa vṛṇute tena labhyastasyaiṣa ātmā vivṛṇute tanūṁ svām.23
The Self is not to be won by eloquent teaching, nor by brain power, nor by much learning: but only he whom this Being chooses can win Him; for to him this Self bares His body.
Katha Upanishad 1.2.23
उत्तिष्ठत जाग्रत प्राप्य वरान्निबोधत। क्षुरस्य धारा निशिता दुरत्यया दुर्गं पथस्तत्कवयो वदन्ति ॥१४॥

न तद्भासयते सूर्यो न शशाङ्को न पावकः। यद्गत्वा न निवर्तन्ते तद्धाम परमं मम ॥६॥
na tadbhāsayate sūryo na śaśāṅko na pāvakaḥ, yadgatvā na nivartante taddhāma paramaṁ mama.6
There we find the timeless being which is not illumined by sun or moon or fire (but is itself the light of the presence of the eternal Purusha); having gone thither they return not; that is the highest eternal status of My Being.

I am pure scent in earth and energy of light in fire; I am life in all existences, I am the ascetic force of those who do askesis.
Know me to be the eternal seed of all existences, O son of Pritha. I am the intelligence of the intelligent, the energy of the energetic.

The light of the sun that illumines all this world, that which is in the moon and in fire, that light know as from Me.
I have entered into this form of earth (and am the spirit of its material force) and sustain by My might these multitudes. I am the godhead of Soma who by the rasa (the sap in the earth-mother) nourishes all plants and trees.

He Who is birthless, eternal and the cause of causes He Who is benignant, self-existent and the light of all lights, He Who is beyond wakefulness, dream and sleep, He Who is beyond darkness, beginning and end, I take refuge in that One real Saviour who has no second.
Salutations to Him Who has assumed the form of the World. Salutations to Him Who is the self of Consciousness and Bliss Salutations to Him Who is realisable by austerity and yoga. Salutations to Him Who is knowable by the teachings of the Vedas.
Vedasarasivastotram

devendramaulimandāramakarandakaṇāruṇāḥ, vighnaṁ harantu mīrāmbujareṇavaḥ.
She Who is crimsoned by the pollen of the celestial flower Mandara that beautifies the crown of the lord of the Gods (Indra). May the pollen of the Lotus Mira remove obstacles.

I have never seen Thee, the robeless, companionless, devoid of the modes of nature, free from ignorance and illusion, whose eyes are fixed on the tip of the nose, who is settled in Yoga and is the knower of the Reality of the World.
I have never thought of Thee, the listless, faultless, enmity-less and Bright. Pardon my offence O Siva, Siva, Siva, O the Great Lord Sambhu.

I sing the glory of Shiva who holds Ganga. I sing the glory of the God Agni. I adore the beloved of Parvati, the essence of the three worlds. I worship Sri Aurobindo. O Supreme Goddess Kamala, higher than the high, be gracious, protect now the one who has come to Thy refuge.

She is decorated with garlands of Mandara And He with garlands of human skulls; She is girt with heavenly robes And He with the vacant spaces; I bow to Her, I bow to Him. I do not want Kingdom, nor wealth of Gold and precious stones.

My Lord is Jagannatha (Lord of the World), My Guru is Jagadguru (Guru of the World). My Soul is the Soul of the World, I Bow to Sri Guru. Guru is the beginning and beginningless as well Guru is the Highest God, There is no one higher than Guru. I bow to Guru.

It is He Who is Mahadeva, It is He Who is Mahahari (Narayana),
It is He Who is the Light of Lights, It is He Who is the Highest God.

नारायणः परो ज्योतिरात्मा नारायणः परः। नारायणः परं ब्रह्म तत्त्वं नारायणः परः। नारायणपरो ध्याता ध्यानं नारायणः परः॥४॥

Narayana is the Real Knowledge, Narayana is the Highest Soul Narayana is the Real Brahman, Narayana is the Real Self. Meditation is on Narayana, Narayana is the Highest Meditation.
Taittiriya Aranyaka Narayanasuktam 4
कृष्णाय गोपीनाथाय गोविन्दाय नमो नमः। कृष्णाय गोपीनाथाय गोविन्दाय नमो नमः॥८
kṛṣṇāya gopīnāthāya govindāya namo namaḥ, kṛṣṇāya gopīnāthāya govindāya namo namaḥ.8
I bow to Krishna, to Gopinatha and to Govinda. I bow to Krishna, to Gopinatha and to Govinda.
